Frank T. Shewchuk Sr., 92, of Boyertown, husband of the late Ivena (Bitting) Shewchuk, passed away on Thursday at Chestnut Knoll Nursing Home.
Born in Northampton, he was the son of the late Alex and Wasylena (Stoyko) Shewchuk.
Frank was a
World War II
veteran who served in the Pacific. He was a member of Zion's UCC in Pottstown and the Pikeville Twp. Sportsman's Association. Frank worked for the former Columbia Boiler in Stowe. He will be remembered for his love of dancing, especially polkas, and loved attending family gatherings.
Surviving is his son Frank T. Shewchuk Jr.; his brother John Shewchuk; his sister Kathryn Sarnak, wife of Joseph; niece Brenda Ross along with many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Along with his wife and parents, he is predeceased by his brothers Joseph, Stephen, Peter, Alex and Paul Shewchuk and sisters Anna Jankowsky and Mary Bono.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown with Rev. Linda Higgins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. Visitation will be Tuesday, 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made in Frank's name to Zion's UCC, 209 Chestnut St., Pottstown, PA 19464.
