FLORENCE ALICE KEIM, 87, OF POTTSTOWN Florence Alice (Baker) Keim, 87, of Pottstown, PA, peacefully passed away in her sleep on November 1, 2012. Florence is the daughter of the late Louisa Sophie Rochat Baker and the late Daniel Hatfield Baker of Ringing Hill, and the wife of the late Fremont Umstead Keim of Sanatoga, PA. Mrs. Keim is a graduate of Pottstown High School, and the Pottstown Business School. She was employed by Jacobs Aircraft and Spicers Corporations and retired from both the Firestone Plastics Corporation and the Occidental Petroleum Corporation. Florence was an active member of the Tri County Fish & Game - Frontier Archer's Association and the Pottstown Salvation Army where she was president of the auxiliary. Florence was famous in the family for lemon-meringue pies, and fresh chestnut filling for holiday meals. She was a lover of the outdoors, enjoyed gathering hickory nuts, and a skilled finder of four-leaf clovers, many of which are to be found between the pages of her books. Florence was an avid bridge player and an enthusiastic member of the Firestone and Occidental Retiree's Association. Florence Keim is survived by her brother, Samuel A. Baker of 9 Apache Run, Barto, Pa 19504, and her two children, Raymond Errol Keim of 21 Hamilton Drive, Princeton Junction, NJ 08550, and LouAnn Keim-Suraci of 1 Birchwood Drive, Perrineville NJ 08535, and her two grandchildren, Daniel F. Suraci and Nicole A. Barraza-Keim. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. on Saturday from the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory 359 King St., Pottstown. Officiating will be the Reverend John Smolik. Burial will be in Pottstown Cemetery-West. There will be a viewing Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Saint Peters Lutheran Church, c/o Ann Suraci, 1 Birchwood Drive, Perrineville, NJ 08535.
