Obituary Condolences

JOHN C. MEISSNER, III, 65, OF POTTSTOWN John C. Meissner, III, 65, of Pottstown, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at his residence with his family at his side. He was the beloved husband of Marcia K. Wood Meissner, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of Evelyn Hicks Meissner and the late John C. Meissner, Jr. John received his Master's Degree from Eastern Michigan University. He did his undergraduate studies at Detroit Bible College, and received the Herald of Christ award from the Christian Service Brigade. Prior to moving to Pennsylvania, he worked at both the Ford and Chrysler Motor Companies. He was employed as a teacher with the Norristown Area School District for 31 years, retiring in 2004. Mr. Meissner was a member of Calvary Chapel in Exton. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed woodworking and oil painting. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, John C., IV (Kim) of Oxford; Daniel H. (Elizabeth) of Reading, and Christy J. Morrell (Walter) of North Coventry. He is also survived by his sisters, Barbara and Nancy, and by his brother, Brian (Wanda), and by seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 13, at Calvary Chapel. Interment was private. Arrangements are being handled by the James J. Terry Funeral Home, Downingtown.
