Obituary Condolences

NORMAN CHESTER KRIER, 82, OF ALBRIGHTSVILLE Norman Chester "Lucky" Krier, 82, of Albrightsville and formerly of Collegeville, died Monday, March 25 in the home of his granddaughter, Kristin and her husband, Ben. He was the husband of the late Hazel (Wright) Krier. They had been married for 50 years and he missed her very much. Born in Norristown, he was a son of the late Norman C. and Emma (Hill) Krier. He had lived in Collegeville for over 40 years. He had been a supervisor in the Waste Management Service Dept. in Lansdale before retiring in 1995. Previously, he had worked for Mack Truck in Conshohocken. Prior to that, he had worked for Allenwood Steel in Conshohocken for over 20 years. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Union. He liked to roller skate in his younger years, and he really loved being a grandfather. He is survived by a daughter, Marjorie Pelfrey and her companion, Brad Scherer of Pottstown; two grandchildren, Chloe Joyce and Kristin Pelfrey and her husband, Ben Szlacta; five great-grandchildren, Chelsea Haas, Rachel Haas, Jordan Haas, Tallulah Szlacta and Brody Szlacta; a great-great grandchild, Silas Jones, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kenneth Pelfrey. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville, with Rev. David Felker officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 1, in the George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
