Howard Goodrich Obituary

HOWARD R. GOODRICH, 85, ROYERSFORD Howard R. Goodrich, 85, Royersford, PA, died May 3, 2013 in Parkhouse Provident Point, after battling a number of medical problems since September 2012. He was born April 12, 1928, in Bryn Mawr, PA, to the late Howard R. Goodrich Sr. and Elizabeth Ray Goodrich, 4935 Hazel Ave., Philadelphia. He was educated at West Philadelphia High School, Temple University and the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Navy 1946 through 1948 as a radar man aboard the USS Taconic (flagship), having earned a Victory Medal. He was a Pennsylvania licensed Associate Real Estate Broker having earned his C. P. C. U. from The American Institute for Property and Liability Underwriters, Inc. He was the former owner of the Central Insurance Agency of Royersford. Howard was an avid family man, outdoorsman (hunting, camping, ATV riding), excellent carpenter and all round handyman. He was a member of the Royersford Lions Club for over 40 years (ex-president), past member of the Royersford Zoning Hearing Board, and member of the Spring-Ford Area Historical Society. Howard is survived by Gloria C. Goodrich, his wife of 65 years; son, James H. Goodrich and his wife, Lynn (Huseman) Goodrich; grandson, Stephen Goodrich and his wife, Tara Goodrich, and his great-grandchildren, Grace and Andrew Goodrich; his granddaughter, Christine (Goodrich) Schmidt and her husband, Adam Schmidt, and his great-granddaughter, Ava Schmidt; his sister Betty (Goodrich) McSweeney and her husband, John McSweeney of Broomall, PA; his nieces, Lauren Drago, Diane McSweeney, Marianne McSweeney, and nephews John McSweeney and Robert McSweeney. A private family only viewing and funeral service will be held at Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Royersford, PA 19468. Condolences may be offered online at www.RoyersfordFuneralHome.com.
