Stephen Grozinski

Obituary Condolences


Stephen Grozinski passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at his residence in Collegeville, Pa.; he was 80 years old. Stephen was a graduate of West Chester State Teachers College. Upon graduation, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps reserves, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. After finishing his active duty obligation he taught geography and world cultures at Methacton High School for over 30 years. In addition, he spent many years working in the evening teaching prisoners at Graterford State Prison. Upon retiring from teaching he worked as a real estate agent and mortgage/loan officer. He was a member of St. Eleanor Church in Collegeville, Pa. and one of the founders of the Collegeville Optimist Club.
Born in Bridgeport, Pa. on April 9, 1933, he was a son of the late John and Ludwina (Pawlowski) Grozinski.
Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 58 years, Sara J. (Ross) Grozinski; a son, Steven M. Grozinski and his wife, Patricia, of Manassas, Va.; two daughters, Karen J. Grozinski of Devon, Pa. and Lisa M. Grozinski and her husband, Michael Ferrie, of Downingtown, Pa.; three grandchildren: Jennifer, Julianne & Matthew; a sister, Ann G. Makowski of King of Prussia, Pa.; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by five brothers: Joseph Stelmack, and Walter, John Jr., Michael and Peter Grozinski.
Relatives & friends are invited to Stephen's funeral Mass at St. Eleanor Church, 647 Locust St., Collegeville, PA on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 10 a.m.
His only viewing will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405.
Interment will be in SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Cemetery, King of Prussia, Pa.
