Joseph Dolan Bainbridge Obituary
JOSEPH DOLAN BAINBRIDGE, 90, OF OLEY Joseph Dolan Bainbridge, 90, passed away May 10, 2014 in his Oley residence. He was the husband of Nancy (Baldwin) Bainbridge, whom he married almost 14 years ago on July 18, 2000. Born February 17, 1924 in Spring City, he was a son of the late Harry and Deborah (Dolan) Bainbridge. He was a 1942 graduate of Spring City High School where he played football and baseball. Joseph was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters during WWII. He worked for Superior Tube Company for over 39 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1989. Joseph was a Boy Scouts of America leader for several years and coached Babe Ruth Baseball. He was also a lifelong Phillies fan. He was a member of the Oley American Legion and the Royersford VFW. In addition to his wife he is survived by his two sons: Terry J., husband of Peggy Bainbridge, Gilberstville; and Thomas A. Bainbridge, Shillington. Also surviving are his sisters: Doris Adams, and Evie Ammon; his four grandsons: Derek, Jason, Christopher, and Tory; and his three great-grandchildren: Kierstin, Ava, and Collin. Joseph was predeceased by his first wife Evlyn (Reitnour) Bainbridge and twelve siblings. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 423 Main St., Oley. Viewings will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. both in the funeral home. Burial will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
