Miss Williams was one of the sweetest people I've ever known. She has always been on my list of women to emulate. She was working in Rupert Elementary's kitchen when I started my teaching career 32 years ago. I remember how she would fuss over my oldest son when he was born. All through the years she would ask about my children. After every chorus concert she would offer such warm, encouraging words of congratulations. A loving and warm spirit for Pottstown's children, a true gift of God. May she rest in peace.

To my family she was cousin Dot.To me she was Grand mom Williams and the children throughout the school district. It is very befitting that she went to meet the Lord during Black History Month .She was a historian, could tell me about family members that have long passed and no one in my family ever told me about but she knew them as best friend as a teenager.A great uncle of mine who was a Pastor of her Church etc.She was a volunteer I presented her with a certificate of volunteerism when I worked as a Caseworker for the Department of Public Welfare,When I worked at the YWCA she received an honorary Woman of the Year Award. She was a educator, who can count the many years she spent in the classroom mentoring and tutoring the children of Pottstown. And it didn't end there. When they were in high school and when they went on to college she sent them a few dollars every Christmas. Some were her relatives, some were her school children that she mentored though the years. She did this because she wanted them to know how important it was to her for them to receive their education. Two of those were my grand daughters whom she mentored from elementary school and now they are in college. They last saw her in December.December was her favorite month ,birth of our Lord, her birthday. My family has lived in Pottstown for over a hundred years and so although we were not related she was related to many of my cousins. My cousin called me in December and she said did you talk to Dot lately and I said no,she said well leave a message for her on her voice mail. The next day my voice message was " Grand-mom Williams our cousin Brenda has passed".And faithfully as she would have visited her in the hospital, she was at her funeral in January. The Pottstown Community is at a loss. The Gates of Heaven have Truly Opened up for her.Sweet Anna you will surely be missed.

Mrs. Williams' legacy will be her volunteer spirit in the community, working with children in Pottstown as a Foster Grandparent, and a Golden Sage. She has touched the lives of generations with her kindness and love. Mrs. Williams is a role model.

I remember Miss Dolly and Miss Lillian working at the Church Store, a "long" time ago. She's been with Second Baptist Church a "long" time and was a gentle soul, always smiling. She will be missed.
Get your rest Miss Dolly.
