POUGHKEEPSIE - Mildred E. Salladin, 87, of Poughkeepsie, passed away on February 13, 2013 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center. She was born in Little Falls, NY on May 11, 1925, the daughter of Millard E. & Myrel Campbell Bowie. She was employed at the E.V. Howard Insurance Co. in Poughkeepsie as an Office Manager/Broker from 1959 to 1993. She retired in 1993. Mildred was previously a Secretary to 2 Congressman, William P. Williams and Hadwin C. Fuller, representing Oneida County, NY. She was a member of Literacy Volunteers, AARP, RSVP, Order of the Eastern Star, Birthday Club and was a past officer for the Antique Study Club. Survivors include her son: Scott B. Salladin at home; daughter: Cheryl E. "Cherie" Tompkins of Bethany, Ok.; grandchildren: Paul Tompkins, III, Taberah Tompkins; great-grandchildren: Ethan Tompkins, Corbin Brown and Callie Beth Brown. She was pre-deceased by her brother: Archie C. Horwald and sister: Myrel Begley. Visitation is Saturday, February 16, 2013, 1-2 PM at the Wm. G. Miller & Son FH, Inc., 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Services are at 2 PM in the Funeral Home and burial will be in the spring in Oak Hill Cemetery in Herkimer, NY.
