Obituaries from the Past Three Days

Waltke, Daniel R.  
Daniel R. Waltke Wallkill - Daniel R. Waltke, 83, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, May 29, 2015. He graduated from Memorial High School in West New York, NJ in 1949. He served in the Naval Reserves in 1951, and was on active duty until 1954. He served in the SeaBee's (Construction Battalion). He married Mary Zaplishny on July 31, 1954, and they lived in Weehawken, NJ for several years. They moved to Gardiner, NY, in 1963, where they raised 4 children, and had 6 grandchildren and 2 step-grandsons. He is survived by: daughter, July Hanaburgh and husband Jeff Hanaburgh of Cape Coral, FL, daughter Christa Andrews and husband Craig Andrews of Gardiner, NY, son Daniel J. Waltke of Gardiner, NY, and daughter Stephanie Rubinow and husband John Rubinow, of Barryville, NY. Grandchildren are: Danielle, Nicholas, Janelle and Kirsten Hanaburgh, Hunter and Olivia Andrews, and John David and Aaron Rubinow. He was self-employed at Waltke Brothers and D & D Waltke, for close to 60 years. He was a home-improvement contractor/builder in New Jersey and New York. His hobbies were classic cars, woodworking, Brooklyn Dodgers and then the New York Mets. His passion was serving the Lord. He was an active church member for 52 years at Faith Assembly of God church in Poughkeepsie, serving as a Church Board member for 32 years, Sunday School Superintendent, teacher, Sunday School bus driver, and Building Committee member. He enjoyed singing in the choir, men's chorus, and playing the trumpet in the orchestra. He loved to witness to people about God's goodness, and was a serious student of the Bible. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved the Lord, his family and his church. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 2nd from 4-8 pm at Faith Assembly of God Church, 254 Spackenkill Rd., Poughkeepsie. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 am at the Church with interment to follow at Brunswick Cemetery in Wallkill, NY.

Weitz, Mary Ann R.  
Mary Ann R. Weitz August 6, 1961-May 18, 2015 Mary Ann R. Weitz, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 18, 2015 in Raleigh, NC. She was the daughter of Mary Ann Pietragalla-Weitz and the late George Weitz. Mary Ann was born in Beacon, NY and was a graduate of Roy C. Ketcham High School and Krissler Business Institute. She relocated to Raleigh, NC in 1992. She was employed by the NC Utilities Commission. Surviving are her mother, Mary Ann Pietragalla-Weitz of Wappingers Falls, NY; sisters, Susan Weitz of Wappingers Falls, NY and George-Ann Sauer of New York, NY. and former brother-in-law, Dave Sauer of Gresham, SC. She was preceded in death by her beloved nephew, Michael John Sauer and her maternal grandparents, John and Josephine Pietragalla. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in to her name to her loving nephew's memorial scholarship fund. Wind, Anthony  
Anthony G. Wind LAGRANGEVILLE - Anthony G. Wind, 26, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015. He was a lifelong area resident before moving to Rochester less than two years ago. Born in Danbury, CT on August 13, 1988, he was the son of Pamela (Chaffee) Vizzini and the late Gregory C. Wind, Sr. Anthony was a graduate of Arlington High School and he was currently studying to be a radiology technician at Monroe Community College. He was an avid pool player. In addition to his mother, Pamela Vizzini and her husband Michael of Lagrangeville, Anthony is survived by his fiancée, Barbara Murray of Rochester; his brothers, Keith Wind, Sr. and his wife Kelly of SC and Gregory Wind, Jr. of MO; his grandparents, Andrew and Florence Chaffee of Poughquag; his stepbrothers, David and Jonathan Vizzini of Stamford, CT; his nieces and nephew, Sarah, Haley, and Keith, Jr.; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his beloved companions, Grizzley and Quasi. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 11 am at St. Kateri Church, 1925 Route 82, Lagrangeville.
