Schumann, Charles  
Charles Bradley Schumann POUGHKEEPSIE - Charles Bradley Schumann died at the Grand Nursing Home in Pawling on June 30th, 2015 after a long illness. Charles, who was also known as Brad, was born in Poughkeepsie on January 28th 1962 to RuthAnn and Edgar Schumann, who survive. Charles attended Ridgefield, Connecticut schools and graduated from R.C. Ketcham High School. Charles was confirmed in his Christian faith at New Hackensack Reformed Church and was a member of Saint Timothy Lutheran Church in Hyde Park. He was employed by ShopRite Stores, rising from stock clerk to store General Manager in Vales Gate. Later he was employed by Lowes Home Centers in Poughkeepsie. Charlie was a avid fisherman who loved the outdoors. In addition to his parents, Charles is survived by a daughter Rebecca Schumann and her mother, Kimberly of Wilmington, North Carolina, a sister Elizabeth Schumann and brother Timothy, both of Chesapeake, Virginia. Charles was preceded in death by his brother Martin. Funeral arrangements are private. The family will host a Celebration of Life for friends and family in the near future. Shaw, Eileen  
Eileen M. Shaw Poughkeepsie - Eileen M. Shaw a lifetime resident of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. passed away on June 29, 2015 at River Valley Nursing Home. Eileen was born on April 24, 1926 to Charles and Jeannette Dibble Shaw. Eileen was employed by N.Y. Telephone Company until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of The Telephone Pioneers of America . St Mary's Choir, City of Poughkeepsie Civilian Patrol and the Knights of Columbus Women's Auxiliary. Eileen was predeceased by her parents as well as her brothers William, Francis and Charles Shaw and sisters Mary Williams and Helena Skelly. Eileen is survived by several nieces and nephews. Calling Hours will he held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the William G. Miller Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie from 4-7 Pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday July 3, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Church, 231 Church St., Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 12601. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Peter's Cemetery. If desired donations may be made to the Duchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Avenue, Hyde Park, 12538. Gladys Stamps Poughkeepsie - Gladys Stamps, age 101, of Poughkeepsie, died Monday, June 22, 2015 at The Pines At Poughkeepsie , Gladys was born June 29, 1913 in Fishkill, NY. She is the daughter of the late John and the late Mary Ida (Brown) Scott. She was a retired employee of the Highland Hospital Beacon, NY where she worked as a Cook. Gladys was a member of Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church Beacon, NY. She was proverbial and loved to walk She is survived by two sons: Scott and his wife Denise S. Garrett of Poughkeepsie, NY and Wendall R. Garrett of Conway, SC., daughter in-law Geraldine Garrett of Chelsea, NY. Gladys was also predeceased by her two husbands, Brown Garrett Sr., Ernest Stamps, son Brown Garrett and daughter Elizabeth Lassitter. Calling hours will be Monday, June 29, 2015 from 9:30am to 11:30am at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 am. Stevensky, Vivian  
Vivian M. Stevensky Poughkeepsie - Vivian M. Stevensky, a lifetime resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie passed away on June 30, 2015 at Quaker Hill Nursing Home, in Hyde Park, N.Y. Vivian was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. on March 6, 1931 the daughter of George and Hattie Palmatier Scott. On March 22, 1951 she married her husband William in Poughkeepsie. William pre-deceased her on March 20, 2002. Vivian is survived by her sons Robert and John Stevensky of Poughkeepsie as well as William, Jr. of California. Also surviving are her daughters Margaret Schirripa, Lucinda Stevensky & Rosemary Moran of Poughkeepsie as well as Debra Askeland , Stuart, Florida and Denise Stevensky of Florida. Also surviving are her sisters Judy, Verna and Helen. Vivian is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Vivian was pre -deceased by her son Joseph Stevensky. Vivian was a homemaker who was a wonderful mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved bingo, scratch off tickets, crossword puzzles and traveling. Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 2,2015 at 5-8 in the Wm. G. Miller Funeral Home on 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 12603. Services will be on Friday, July 3,2015 at 10 A.M. in the funeral home. Sweeney, Francis  
Francis Sweeney Viola, DE - Francis Sweeney, 74, of Viola, Delaware, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 at his home. He was born in Brooklyn May 22, 1941, the son of Francis and Alice Cody Sweeney. On April 30, 1966, he was married to Agnes McCormick Sweeney, who survives at home. Mr. Sweeney was employed at City Bank for 37 years, starting in Brooklyn, and various locations after. Frank is a former resident of Wappingers Falls, and is a member of New Hamburg Engine Co., and the Knights of Columbus council #1646, Wappingers Falls. Besides his wife, survivors include his children, Frank Sweeney, Jr. and John, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Kathy Benedetto and Michael of the Town of Newburgh, and Maureen Sweeney of Dover Plains, Grandchildren, Branden and Ryan Benedetto, Alexandrea Sebastian, Ashley, Joshua Merlo, and Zachary Duffy Sweeney, Sisters, Patricia Sweeney and Tom of Brooklyn, and Regina Blades and Charlie of Delaware, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St. Wappingers Falls, Thursday from 4 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church Clinton St., Wappingers Falls. Burial Wappingers Rural Cemetery. New Hamburg Eng. Co. service Thursday at 7:30 PM.
