LaGrange - Albert Joseph Hollar 86 of the Town of LaGrange, died at home on Wednesday November 21, 2012.Born October 23, 1926 in the Bronx, Albert was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Ermler Hollar.

Albert was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School in the Bronx. He served his country during WWII in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946 and also served in the United Marine Corp from 1951 to 1953. Albert was a local resident for the last three years previously residing in Putnam Valley. Albert was a New York City Patrolman from 1954 until he retired in 1981, he also was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie. Albert loved to work in his garden and enjoyed hunting.

On May 10, 1947 at St. Lucy's Church in the Bronx he married Barbara (Olga) Ferarri, she predeceased him.

Albert was survived by his three son's and their spouses; Clifford and Debbie Hollar of North Carolina, Kenneth and Mary Hollar of Texas and John and Christine Hollar of LaGrange; his grandchildren, Stacy, Laurie, Justin, Jason, Matthew, Jordan, Catrina and Carissa Hollar. Albert also is survived by Five great grandchildren and was predeceased by a sister Eileen Patinella.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday November 27, 2012 from 7pm to 9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10am on Wednesday November 28, 2012 at Holy Trinity Church Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Rose Hill Cemetery Putnam Valley.
