Poughkeepsie - Bessie Mae Jordan a longtime resident of Poughkeepsie, entered into eternal rest Friday, May 31, 2013 at her residence. She was born May 5, 1947 in Loris, SC. She was the daughter of John Wesley Jordan and Mary L. Mott. Bessie was educated in the Jersey City, NJ school system. A factory worker for Dolfins Electronic and several other factories in Poughkeepsie.

Left to cherish her memories are her parents, John Wesley Jordan and Mary L. Mott; three brothers, Jimmy Floyd, Jessie Floyd and MacArthur Floyd; two sisters, Mary Ann Mott and Wilhlemena Brooks. Several nieces, nephews and best friend Rose Johnson. She was predeceased by three brothers,Willie Daniels Vandross, James Earl Jordan and Earnest Jordan; four sisters, Carletta Floyd, Gail Floyd, Glordine Floyd and Cynthia Delores Mott.

Ms Jordan will lie in repose 10-11am Friday June 7 at the Beulah Baptist Church, 92 Catherine St., Poughkeepsie Services 11am at the chapel. Bishop Debra E. Gause will officiate. Interment at Wappinger Rural Cemetery, Wappinger Falls, NY.
