Conrad T. Badenhop

Rhinebeck-Conrad T. Badenhop, 96, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at his residence in Rhinebeck, NY.

He was born on June 20, 1916 in Yonkers, NY, the son of Conrad Francis Badenhop and Louise Josephine (Kopf) Badenhop.

Mr. Badenhop worked as an engineer for Electrolux in Old Greenwich, CT and Norma-Hoffman Bearing in Stamford, CT.

In 1943, he married Gay DeBuan. She predeceased him in May of 1995.

He honorably served his country in the United States Army during WWII in the 509th Military Police Battalion.

Conrad is survived by a son, Kim Badenhop of California; a daughter, Wendy Badenhop of Idaho; two granddaughters, Boo Walsh of South Portland, ME and Sheri Martinez of Las Vegas, NV; a grandson, Dan Walsh of South Portland, ME; and a sister, Katherine Schneider of Saugerties, NY.

A memorial service will be held from at 1 PM on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck, NY. A private interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Sierra Club, Sierra Club Member Services, 85 Second Street, 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105, or the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Ave., Hyde Park, NY 12538.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck, NY 12572.
