Dominick L. Moscato

Beacon - Dominick L. Moscato, a lifelong Beacon resident, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. He was 84.

Born on April 27, 1929 in Beacon he was the son of Louis and Jenny Mosca Moscato. Dominick served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Dominick married the former Marguerite MacDonald. Mrs. Moscato predeceased Dominick in 2003. He retired from National Biscuit Company. Dominick was a parishioner of St. Joachim - St. John the Evangelist Church. He was a member of Beacon Engine Company and Lewis Tompkins Hose Company and a former member of Knights of Columbus, Trinity Council #445.

Dominick is survived by his son, Joe Moscato of Peabody, MA; his daughter, Patricia Moscato of Beacon; his grandchildren, Antonio and Isabella DeGilio-Moscato; his sister, Mary Moscato; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Bella.

In addition to his wife, Dominick was predeceased by his sisters, Roseann Moscato and Jennie McKinney.

The family will receive their friends on Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon. Members of Beacon Engine will hold services at 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 24 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 31 Willow Street, Beacon. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery, 301 Washington Avenue.
