Guy D. Pendleton

Poughkeepsie - Guy D. Pendleton, Sr., 68 of Poughkeepsie died at his residence on Saturday, January 25, 2014.

Born in Beacon,NY on November 1,1945 he was the son of the late John Henry Pendleton and Genevieve Niver.

Guy served his country with the U.S Marine Corps from 1966 - 1972. He worked as an electrician for many years with companies in Beacon and Pleasant Valley and retired from Dutchess Community College because of ill health.

Guy enjoyed fishing, Lionel trains, antiqueing, going to auctions and classic cars. He was a member of the NRA.

He was the devoted and beloved father to his 3 sons; Guy Pendleton of Gardiner, Sam Pendleton of Gardiner and Mark Pendleton and his fiancée Regina Hebert of Highland; dear grandfather of Melissa Rose, Antonio, Samuel Richard and Annalise Olivia Pendleton; brother of Victor of Maine and Gary of Ohio, Sharon Schoonmaker, Faye Barry and Elsie Cornelius, all of Maine; and brother in law of Kathleen Parker of Hurley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Jack. He was predeceased by a brother, John Henry and a sister, Virginia Ricci.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 30 from 12 noon - 1:30 pm at Parmele, Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Ave., Poughkeepsie. Graveside services with military honors will follow at 2 pm at St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.

Memorial donations may be made to the United States Marine Corps.
