James Frederick Breden
WALDEN - James Frederick Breden of Walden, NY, formerly of Valhalla, NY. Jim and Gail split their time between their home in Walden and their beach home in Frisco NC. Retired after 40+ years as a Master Electrician for IBEW 501, died October 1st 2012, in Castle Point Veterans Hospital. He was 78.
The son of the late Edward C. Breden and Adaline Sampson Baker Breden, he was born June 04, 1934 in Mt. Vernon, NY.
He served in the Navy during Korean Conflict
. Jim belonged to St. Matthews Lutheran Church, White Plains, for 40+ years, he was a volunteer fireman
in Valhalla Company #1 for over 40 years, where he attained the rank of Chief.
He was the husband of Gail Breden, married 52 years.
Survivors include his Wife, Gail at home; Daughter, Kimberlee Anne Breden of Poughkeepsie; Daughter, Christine Marie Cookingham and her husband Jay of Hyde Park; Son, James Keith Breden and his wife Elizabeth of Cortlandt Manor, NY; 8 Grandchildren: Joshua, Sarah, Matthew, Michael, Daniel, Isaac, Rebecca, & Christina; Brother,Edward Breden and his wife Teddy of Stamford, CT; Sister, Alice Ehmann and her husband Carl of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; Brother, Philip Breden of Lisbon Falls, ME; Sister, Dorothy Palmer of Sandy Creek, NY; Sister, Florence Kaeser and her husband Carl of Eastchester, NY; Sister, Henrietta "Cookie" Rossi of Waterbury CT. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sister Arlene Breden Visitation will be Friday October 5, 2012 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 Pm at the Wallkill Funeral home, 12 Bonaventura Ave, Wallkill, NY 12589.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 11am at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen, NY.
In Lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to Jim's favorite charity, Bridge Builders Community Church, P.O. Box 887, Hyde Park, NY 12538, in Jim's memory.
