Dr. Jerome H. Fein

EAST FISHKILL - Dr. Jerome H. Fein, 74, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 26 years and formerly of the Bronx, died peacefully on Friday, May 3, 2013 at his home while watching the Knicks game. Our community has lost a beloved doctor and friend.

Born in the Bronx on February 3, 1939, he was the son of Dr. Jack and Eve Shultz Fein. He received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine form Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He had a private practice in the Bronx before moving to Hopewell Junction. Dr. Fein was the epitome of a hometown doctor who did everything for everybody, and even making house calls when needed. He was recently recognized by the Town of East Fishkill for his commitment and dedication to the community. He was also employed as a physician by the State of New York at Greenhaven Correctional Facility where he has worked for the last 25 years.

Jerry was a faithful member of the East Fishkill Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. He enjoyed fishing and watching the Yankees, Knicks, Rangers and Giants. He loved his family more than anything and will forever be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

On June 5, 1980 in the Bronx, Jerry married Edna Ayende who worked beside him every day. He is also survived by his children, Joseph Fein and his wife Susan of Wappingers Falls, Alyssa Fein of Wingdale and Matthew Fein of Hopewell Junction; his grandsons, Jordan and Joseph D. Fein; his sisters, Roberta and Marlene; his special cats, Sheena and Bella; and many, many patients and friends that he has cared for through the years.
