Marlboro - John Pizzo, age 101, of Marlboro died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at St. Lukes Cornwall Hospital of Newburgh, NY. Mr. Pizzo was born December 27, 1910 in Tampa, FL. He is the son of the late Joseph and the late Emelia (Zambito) Pizzo. He married Mary Zambito who predeceased him.
John was a retired local fruit grower and lifelong resident of Marlboro.
John was the tax collector for Marlboro from 1943-1947, he was a Trustee of St. Mary's Church,
Marlboro, an Usher at the 8am mass for St. Mary's Church, Marlboro and chairman of St. Mary's Cemetery Committee, he was a past Commissioner of the Marlboro Hose Company for 15 years, past chairman for the Marlboro Republican Committee, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of Marlboro UNICO and a member of the Marlboro-Milton Lions Club.
He is survived by 3 sisters Angela Foglia of Milton, Jenny Aprile of Florida and Mary
Capitano of Florida and several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his wife Mary and his sister Lee Paladine.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 9th from 2-6pm at the DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:00 am on Monday, December 10th at St. Mary's Church, Route 9W, Marlboro, NY with Father Frank Bassett officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Marlboro
