Josephine E. Sinclair, age 94, of New Paltz, NY, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, NY.

Born on December 26, 1918, in Lakeville, CT, she was the daughter of Gerard and Gladys (Smith) Conner. She married George Wiser in 1935. She later married Bernard VanKleeck in 1952 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Mr. VanKleeck died on November 12, 1977. She later married John Sinclair in 1980. He died on May 22, 1997.

John and Josephine Sinclair were the owners and operators of the Mid Hudson Gun Club, a public skeet and trap range located in New Paltz, NY from 1969-1976.

Surviving are three daughters, Beverly Sassone of Poughkeepsie, NY, Hazel Parise of Highland, NY, Penelope Dennis of Poughkeepsie, NY and three sons: Brian R. VanKleeck of Wallkill, NY, Calvin Wiser of Hyde Park, NY, Stanley Wiser of SC, one sister, Ethel Unger of Poughkeepsie, NY, many grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Wiser and granddaughter Stephanie, and a son, Malry Wiser.

Friends and relatives may call on Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 1-4 pm at Copeland Funeral Home, Inc., 162 South Putt Corners Road, New Paltz, NY. Cremation already took place at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Modena Fire Department, for their years of urgent care when needed the most.
