Kenneth "Kap" Kapusinsky
Beacon - Kenneth "Kap" Kapusinsky, 67, of Beacon, New York passed away peacefully at the home he built surrounded by his loving family. As his granddaughter, Haley said "Kappa is gone but his spirit is still with us."
Kap was born on October 19, 1946 to the late Joseph and Mary Sullivan Kapusinsky. He was a graduate of Stony Point High School in Haverstraw and the University of New Mexico. Kap also received his Master's Degree from the University of New Mexico as well as additional course work from various colleges. Kap led an eventful life that most people would read about in a book. His achievements cover every facet of life and he was a man of many trades. Kap was a motorcycle police officer
in New Mexico, a skydiver and instructor, held a pilot's license and was a pilot instructor, a scuba diver and instructor. Kap retired from Metro North after over thirty years of employment as an Electric Tech Supervisor. Kap never stopped learning and teaching; if he did not know how something worked he learned how it worked. He liked camping, fishing, golfing, rebuilding antique cars and pretty much whatever he could get his hands on in his garage.
Kappa lived his life his way and with only one regret, "I don't have enough time to teach the kids all that I wanted to teach them…there was just not enough time." He lived, he loved, he laughed and he gave it all he had.
Kap is survived by his wife, Esther Kapusinsky, Beacon; his two devoted sons and their wives, Scott (Liz)Wood of Cold Spring and Nick (Melanie) Wood of Marlboro; his three wonderful grandsons, Matt, Nicky and Tyler; his granddaughter, Haley, who was the apple of his eye; his brothers, Joseph (Tatyana) Kapusinsky of London, England, Dr. Francis (Lisa) Kapusinsky of Clearwater, Florida, Gerald (Joan) Kapusinsky of Haverstraw, Gary (Christina) Kapusinsky of West Brookline, NY; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
