Hudson - Robert L. Lasher, Sr., 64, a Columbia County resident since 1980 and formerly of Dutchess County, died on Friday, November 1, 2013, at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
Born October 11, 1949 in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of the late George and Marion Williams Lasher.
Robert proudly served in the United States Navy
Mr. Lasher worked as a Yardman for C.L. Smith's in Chatham, NY for many years before retiring and running his own property maintenance business.
He was a very active member of the Bible Baptist Church of Ghent, NY. He was also a member of the Mohawk Pigeon Club in Cairo, NY, and was in charge of the Poultry Barn at the Chatham Fair for many years.
He will be missed, but not forgotten. He is survived by his three children, Lisa Griffin of Stephentown, NY, and Robert L. Lasher Jr. and wife, Candace, and Mandy L. Lasher, all of Philmont, NY; four grandsons, Joseph, Brandon, Shane, and Robert III; two great granddaughters, Alyah and Isabelle; former spouses, Margaret J. Harnen and Patsy Nichols; sister, Gert Oles of N. Adams, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, Seymour, Henry, Freddy, and Herbie Lasher; and one sister, Catherine Cannon.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 pm, Tuesday, Nov. 5th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
Funeral Services will be at 11 am, Wednesday, November 6th at the Funeral Home. Pastor James Osborne officiating.
Burial will follow in the family plot in Union Cemetery of Hyde Park.
