Lynn Perusse Blood
Sanford, Florida - Lynn Blood passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Hospice Residence in Alamonte Springs, FL., after a yearlong courageous battle with aggressive lymphoma. Lynn was very brave.
Lynn was born on November 25, 1960, at Vassar Bros. Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
She graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School and Dutchess Community College. In addition to being a mom, her lifelong dream was to become an elementary school teacher
, which she accomplished in 2007, by earning her Bachelor's degree from the University of Phoenix. Lynn was a fourth grade teacher at Bentley Elementary School in Sanford, FL- a job she truly loved.
Lynn resided in Sanford, FL. with her three children- Evan, Brook and Erin Blood. Lynn purchased their home in Sanford as a single parent and was so very proud of that fact and was even more proud of her children. One of their favorite things to do was to camp at Lake Jessup.
In addition to her children Evan, Brook and Eric, still at home; Lynn is survived by her parents, Jack and Patty Perusse of New Hamburg, her sister and brother-in-law, Rondi and Ed Ludwig and nieces Amanda and Gabrielle Ludwig of New Hamburg. Lynn is also survived by her great aunt Rose of New Hamburg, and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Lynn was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Edward H. Becker, Sr. and Josephine (Nona) Becker and father, Harold Sherow.
Lynn's family would like to thank her dearest friend, Barb Hubbard and her husband Jimmy for all their kindness and support since Lynn was diagnosed. Barb organized a massive fund raising event for Lynn last year-it was a huge success and was an incredible boost to Lynn's spirit. Barb was with Lynn through the good times and the bad and we will be forever grateful-she is a true angel.
In addition to Barb and Jimmy, we thank all of Lynn's friends at her favorite place to socialize-not only for their support for Lynn's fund raiser and get well wishes, but for making Lynn's last Christmas here on earth so amazing.
Many thanks to Dr. Patel and the nurses and staff on the Oncology Unit at Florida Hospital in Alamonte Springs, FL. Lynn spent so much time in the hospital and was treated with respect and kindness during each stay; and everyone treated her visiting family and friends in the same way. They also made this Christmas a very special one.Lynn's friends at Bentley Elementary School have been supportive and generous for the past year and we want them to know how grateful we are. As soon as Lynn was diagnosed, friends and colleagues dropped dinner off at Lynn's home, made blankets, quilts, sent cards, made visits, etc.
There will be no visitation.
