Hyde Park - Mary Isaacson, 91, a Hyde Park resident since 1947 and formerly of Hudson, NY, died peacefully at home on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014.
Born July 29, 1922 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Menyhert and Mary Choros Boldizar.
Mary was a graduate of Hudson High School and attended college in Cobleskill, NY.
Prior to marrying and raising a family, Mrs. Isaacson was a member of the accounting staff of Eastern Aircraft in Linden, NJ. Previous to Eastern Aircraft, she was employed by Paul Duerr, hair stylist, in Albany.
Mary was an active member of the Hyde Park United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She made a lot of friends at church and enjoyed helping with the church's thrift shop, The Mark-It Place. Playing bridge was another of her favorite hobbies.
On September 23, 1944 in Elizabeth, NJ, she married Alfred H. Isaacson Jr. Mr. Isaacson predeceased her on July 20, 2009.
Mrs. Isaacson is survived by her two daughters, June VanZandt and husband, Peter, and Mary E. Jones, all of Hyde Park; son, Douglas Isaacson and wife, Julie , of Taylorsville, NC; six grandchildren, Brent VanZandt and wife, Theresa, and their children, Katlynn, Lindsey, and Brooke, of Wappingers Falls, Matthew VanZandt of the Cardinal Hayes Home for Children in Millbrook, Kory VanZandt and wife, Liz, and their children, Kylie, Logan, and Reese, of Highland, Melissa Lasher and her children, Allison and Chad, of Taylorsville, NC, Christy Jacobs and husband, Dave, and their children, Ryan, Kyle, and Dylan, of Delran, NJ, and Shondra Conyers and husband, Addrain, and their children, Zavion and Ava of Castleton, NY; and several nieces and nephews. Mary was lovingly cared for by Gladys Rosmus and Gwen Jones.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Helen Cahill; and two brothers, Anthony and Michael Boldizar.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, April 24th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
A period of visitation will also take place from 11 am to 12 noon, Friday, April 25th at the Hyde Park United Methodist Church, Rte. 9, Hyde Park prior to the celebration of Mary's life at 12 noon. Rev. Arlene Wilhelm will officiate.
Burial will follow in the family plot in Union Cemetery of Hyde Park.
