Miguel A. Coronel
HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Miguel Alfonso Coronel, 65, an area resident since 1982 and formerly of New York City, died on Monday, February 4, 2013 at home with his wife at his side.
Born in Ecuador on February 20, 1947, he was the son of Luis Octavio and Isabel Hipatia Vega Coronel. On September 21, 1977 in New York City, Miguel married Eleonore Kumorek May.
Miguel began his career as an air force pilot in Panama. Upon arriving in the United States Miguel's career as a professional spanned the fashion industry, the field of architectural planning and design, the service industry, investment banking, and entrepreneurial ventures.
Miguel showed his unique beauty of being in his generosity of spirit and deed. With his ever present sense of humor, his greatest gift was bringing cheer, laughter and warmth to those around him. He loved music and dancing with a passion, and traveling through Europe, South America and the Caribbean. He will be remembered for his fortitude and steadfastness, and a great passion and love of life on our Earth.
In addition to his loving wife, Miguel is survived by his brothers and sisters, Jaime Humberto Coronel Vega, Ruth America Esmeralda Coronel Vega, Luis Anibal Coronel Vega, Elfie Amada Coronel de Santacruz, Carmen Noemi Coronel de Herdoiza, Dora Enriqueta Coronel de Checa, Magdalena Beatriz Coronel de Armendariz, Martha Teresa Coronel de Zurita, Cesar Augusto Coronel Vega, and Grace Esperanza Coronel Vega; and the complement of family including brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 10am to 1pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be at 12pm.
