Paula Jappen(1965 - 2013)

Paula A. Pagano Jappen

Kingston - Paula A. Pagano Jappen, 47, loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday January 9, 2013 in Kingston Hospital.

The daughter of Sabino J. Pagano, U.S. Army Ret. and Phyllis Pandoli Pagano, both residing in Hyde Park, she was born in Poughkeepsie, on April 7, 1965.

Paula was a graduate of Arlington High School, class of 1983.

She proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1990-1994 during the Gulf War and was currently an active counselor for the Veterans Administration in Bath, N.Y. As a child she entertained a crowd at Ray Renzo's with her singing and dancing routines. When she got on stage, you could hear a pin drop, she had the voice of an angel.

Paula's greatest accomplishment was her three boys. She took pride in raising her boys to be respectable men. A job she successfully achieved!

During her short life here, Paula made a big impression! She could make you feel good from the inside out. There was a sincerity about her that will never be replaced. She called it like she saw it and she really did have a way with words! She had the most infectious laugh and a beautiful smile to go with it.

She loved hard, laughed often and lived much.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her three sons, Michael Dominick Pagano of Staatsburg, Brandon Paul Farias of Hyde Park, and Peter Elliot Jappen of Staatsburg; former spouse, Peter J. Jappen of Staatsburg; brother, Gary L. Pagano of Hyde Park; sister, Susan Travis and husband, Del, of Newburgh; brother, Steven M. Pagano of Marlboro; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, especially Jessica Doyle of Hyde Park.

She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends and loved ones.

She was predeceased by her nana, Santa Vaccaro, of New Rochelle.

Paula loved God and in heaven is where she awaits us.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 pm, Monday, January 14th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.

A family memorial service will take place at 6 pm during the visitation. Military honors will follow.

In keeping with her family's wishes, cremation will take place on Tuesday.

Paula's family respectfully suggests memorial donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Veterans Administration, 76 Veterans Ave., Bath, NY 14810
