Raymond A. Eaton, Jr.
Newburgh - Raymond A. Eaton Jr., of Newburgh, a longtime area resident, entered into rest on Friday, May 17, 2013 at home with his family by his side. He was 75.
Son of the late Raymond and Marion (Schyler) Eaton, he was born March 24, 1938 in Queens, NY. He married Marilyn E. Eaton on June 27, 1981 in Newburgh. Marilyn survives at home.
Raymond was a graduate of Alfred University, served in the National Guard, and worked for IBM as a Financial Advisor, retiring after 37 years. He enjoyed boating, dancing and tending to his home. He belonged to many clubs including the IBM Quarter Century Club, the IBM Retiree Club, the Moose Club
of Poughkeepsie and the Elks Club
, and was very well liked by his friends in all of these clubs. He will be dearly missed by his family.
In addition to his wife Marilyn, he is survived by his children, John Eaton and his wife KellyAnn, Karen O'Shea and her husband William and Linda Brooks and her husband Brian; and his grandchildren, Monika Spearman, Gina Yozzo, Tanner Brooks, Justin Brooks, Sophie O'Shea and Vivian Eaton. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Dennis Eaton, and his aunt, Virginia Coburn.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, May 21 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 22 at Our Lady of the Lake Parish, Newburgh.
