Richard William Clark

Hyde Park - Richard William Clark, 67, a 30 year Hyde Park resident, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center, Bronx, NY.

Born June 29, 1945 in Bangor, Maine, he was the son of Robert W. Clark and the late Germaine Perreault Clark. Mr. Clark survives in Oil City, PA.

Richard graduated from Arlington High School in 1963, and served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1969, during which he did two active tours in Vietnam.

On May 26, 1973 he married the former Betty J. Winchell in Regina Coeli Church, Hyde Park. His wife of twenty years survives in Hyde Park.

Richard worked for the United States Postal Service in Poughkeepsie and was the Co-Owner of Hyde Park Taxi before his retirement in 1979.

Mr. Clark was twice elected Commander of Disabled American Veterans, Castle Point Chapter #144. He enjoyed sports rifle shooting and was a member of several local sportsman's clubs. Also an avid bowler, he was active in several local bowling leagues over the years.

In addition to his father and former wife, Richard is survived by his daughter, Christine Woodcock of Winsted, Conn.; granddaughter, Eve; sister, Colleen DeAlmeida of Poughkeepsie; brother, Joe Clark of Poughkeepsie; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services and military honors will be 2 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2012 at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park. Rev. Mark Mast will officiate.

Burial in the family plot in Stanford Cemetery, Stanfordville, will be at the family's convenience.
