Huckell, Jr
Hyde Park, NY - Robert E. Huckell Jr, 49, of Hyde Park, entered Heaven's gates on March 13, 2013. He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on January 31, 1964, son of late Robert and Edna (Decker) Huckell.
He retired from Local Laborers 1000 out of Poughkeepsie in 2006 and a long time friend of Bill W. and devoted many years not only locally but traveled in efforts to serve others.
A lifetime resident of Poughkeepsie, he was affectionally known as Bob, Huck or Huckell. He will be forever remembered for his love of listening to music, going for motorcycle rides, laughing, being with his family, telling jokes and stories, having fun with friends and BBQing. An avid fan of the New York Giants and Yankees he was always one to host a game in his home to entertain both friends and family. His strength and morals is a tribute to the beauty of his heart and soul. His inspiring presence will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege to have known him.
He is survived by his wife Ginamarie Francese Huckell of Hyde Park; his children Shannon her husband Shawn; Robert; Cynthia; Gayle and Brendon of Hyde Park. Sisters Barbra Perry and Theresa Goldman of Hyde Park. Grandchildren, Tyler; Trevor; Abigail; Logan; Robert;Shiloh; Gianna; Brendon; Issiah and Braylon. As well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he is predeceased by sisters Cindy Galimba, Joanne Bell and Gail Huckell. He touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held Friday, March 22nd from 4pm-8pm at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 218 Mill Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. I was Cindy's second grade teacher at VAS and I remember Shannon from an after school program many years ago at Haviland MS. I was very sorry to learn of Mr. Huckell's passing. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
