Robert G. Paquet
Poughkeepsie - Robert "Bob" G. Paquet passed away November 6, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. Bob is the son of Paul F. and Lyberta Dayton Paquet. He was born in Poughkeepsie on September 7, 1930. He attended Hyde Park school district and graduated from Roosevelt H.S. in June 1948. Bob was active in high school athletics playing baseball and football. He entered the US Air Force
in September of 1950 and served until 1954 as a tail gunner for SAC and flew in the B36 bomber. He was stationed in Colorado, Texas, South Dakota and Puerto Rico.
Bob worked for IBM for thirty-two years. While working at IBM he attended classes at Dutchess Community College. He studied accounting and philosophy. He retired from IBM in 1987 as manager of Program Cost Estimating. After his retirement, Bob became Director of Golf at the McCann-Caven Golf Course where he worked for 18 years. Bob was an avid golfer. Earlier in life he was the club champion at Whispering Pine Golf Course.
On May 5, 1955 Bob married Joan McCarthy who survives at home. He is survived by his children Jeffrey Paquet and his wife LeeAnn, Robin Paquet and her partner SeaJaye Sillasen of Lakewood Co., and Lisa Gray and her husband Landon. Also surviving are grandchildren Matthew and Marc Paquet, Ryan, Brittany, Shayna, Iman and Zahra Gray and great-grandchildren Cassius Gray, Nadia and Naomi Graham. Also surviving is his sister Joan Cramer of Portland Oregon and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Paul Paquet.
Before his death he loved to winter in Florida playing golf and walking the beach with the love of his life, Joan.

Calling hours will be held Sunday November 11, 2012 from 2:00pm-5:00pm at Wm. G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
