Pleasant Valley - Robert Polotaye of Pleasant Valley passed away peacefully on May 21, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 66. Born on May 17, 1947 in Poughkeepsie, NY to the late Lewis R. Polotaye and Catherine Polotaye Schamberg. Robert graduated Poughkeepsie High School and proudly served six years as a Sea Bee in the United States Navy
including a tour in Vietnam. He was a plumber and steamfitter with Local 201 in Poughkeepsie.
Bob loved being outside. He enjoyed hunting, fishing with his children, boating on the lakes around New York State and snowmobiling.He was pre deceased by his parents, his stepfather Benjamin Schamberg, his father and mother -in-law, Robert and Gladys Nothdurft, and his great niece Sandy Anson. Survivors include his devoted wife Sandee of Pleasant Valley, his loving children Robert Polotaye and his wife Maricar of Middletown, NJ, Kelli Mitchell and her husband James of Trumbull, CT, Michael Polotaye and his wife Allyson of LaGrangeville and Andrew Polotaye of Pleasant Valley. Robert is also survived by his dear brother Raymond Polotaye and his wife Jude of Rhinebeck, his step-brother Robert Schamberg and his wife Kirsten of Hyde Park, his cherished grandchildren Teagan, Jude, James, Ethan, and Michael and several nieces and a nephew.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main Street, Pleasant Valley. A mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am Saturday, May 25th at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, Pleasant Valley. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Poughkeepsie.
