Robert "Brian" Tate

Pine Plains - Robert "Brian" Tate, 53, a resident of Pine Plains, NY, formally of Queens, NY, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at home.

Born January 24, 1959 in North Tarrytown, NY he was the son of the late Robert J. and Helen E. Burmister Tate. Brian served his country honorably in the United State Army and Air Force from 1978 through 1986. He was a telecommunications and teletype specialist while serving in the military. After his discharge from military service he worked as a fiber optics and cable engineer at Cornell University Medical Center in Manhattan, NY for many years.

Brian is survived by his sister and brother in-law; Susan Tate-Hutt and her husband Lee of Pine Plains, NY and a niece; Tara Charles also of Pine Plains. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Timothy "Donald" Tate of Cobleskill, NY and a sister, Maureen Ann Tate of Gahanna, OH.

Brian was a kind and caring soul who loved animals. The family has requested that memorial contributions in Brian's name be made to the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Ave, Hyde Park, NY 12538. There will be no calling hours and funeral services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Scott D. Conklin Funeral Home, 37 Park Avenue, Millerton, NY 12546.
