Roger P. O' Rourke

BALLSTON LAKE - Roger P. O' Rourke, 62, of Ballston Lake, NY, passed away October 7th, 2012 at Saratoga Hospital.

Roger was born in Poughkeepsie on April 6, 1950, the son of Philip and Norma O'Rourke.

He was a 1964 graduate of St. Mary's School and a 1968 graduate of Roy C. Ketcham High School. After graduation he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served from 1968 to 1971 rising to the rank of sergeant.

Later he attended Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Roger eventually settled in Ballston Lake and worked for the USPS. He served in several elected posts in the local postal workers union, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved to spend time on the lake and vacation in Myrtle Beach. Roger is remembered for his outgoing and friendly style and ready wit.

Roger was predeceased by his father Philip and is survived by his mother Norma, his wife Bonnie; his sons Nicholas and Dennis; his daughter Kelly; his sisters Denise Ciccone (Tom); his sister Lisa Usavich (Mitchell).

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 13th at St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. A private burial with military honors will be held at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.

In Memory of Roger's service to the Marines, a Christmas donation to Toys for Tots can be made. Memorial contributions may be made "In Memory of Roger O'Rourke" to the at 121 Executive Drive, New Windsor, NY 12553.
