Albert Scott Adams

Pleasant Valley - On June 6, 2013, Albert Scott Adams, kindly known as "Bill", died at home, after a long battle with cancer.

Bill was born May 1, 1961 in Cold Spring, NY to Albert and Jennie Adams of Kent Cliffs, NY. They survive at home along with his brother Mark Adams.

Bill graduated from Carmel High School in 1980. He worked in various fields including masonry and auto mechanics. He worked at the Town of Pleasant Valley Highway Department and then at Dutchess Quarry and Supply Company in Pleasant Valley, NY where he was a member of the Laborer's Local 1000.

On September 19, 1992 , he married Nancy Durland. She survives at home along with his beloved children, Heather and CJ Adams.

He is also survived by his mother in-law, Linda Rothmann, his father in-law Robert Durland Sr. and his wife Judy, his brother in-law and sister in law , Robert and Sarah Durland, sisters in law Linda and her husband Todd Hixson, Cindy Durland ,

Debbie Adams, many nieces, nephews and the children of Nancy's Little Angel's whom affectionately referred to him as 'Daddy Bill'.

Bill was predeceased by his brother Michael W. Adams in 2009.

Bill was an avid four wheeling and jeep restoration enthusiast. He and his family attended many Jeep Jamborees in Monticello, NY and Killington, VT where he would drive his CJ7. Bill loved traveling with his family in the summer to Myrtle Beach, SC , Outer Banks, NC, Cape Cod, Mass., and Florida, especially Daytona Beach.

There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Sunday July 21st, at 3:00 pm at St.Paul's Episcopal Church, Traver Road Pleasant Valley, NY with a dinner reception and celebration of his life to follow at the parish hall at which time, the family will receive guests.
