Barbara J. Hatch

Stormville - Barbara J. Hatch, 71 years old, of Stormville, died peacefully at home in the company of family on Wednesday, April 24, 2013. She was born February 10, 1942 at New York Hospital in Manhattan, and was the daughter of the late William and Florence Ziegler Kiene. She was baptized April 12, 1942 at St. John's Lutheran Church on E. 119th St., New York, NY and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on April 17, 1955 at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Comforter on Woodycrest Ave. in the Bronx.

She attended elementary school at PS 104 and then graduated from Macombs Junior High School on June 24, 1955 and from William Howard Taft High School in the Bronx on June 25, 1958. Barbara attended Baruch City College. She lived on Jesup Ave. before her marriage to Walter C. Hatch on August 25, 1962 at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Comforter. They then lived on Sheridan Ave. and Jesup Place in the Bronx before moving to Sunny Lane in Stormville in 1970.

Barbara was employed as a stenographer for the Wappingers Central School District for many years until her retirement. She loved Colorado, especially Aspen and Vail and loved visiting family there and also enjoyed southwestern culture.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter C. Hatch, who died August 1, 2012. Barbara is survived by her loving children, Brenda Hatch and her companion, Dick Ratway, of Texas and Lisa Boffemmyer of Denver, NC, Walter Hatch and his wife, Patrice, of Hopewell Junction, Eric Hatch and his wife, Jen, of Poughkeepsie; two brothers, William Kiene, Jr. of Stormville and Robert Kiene and his wife, Pat, of Hopewell Junction; four cherished grandchildren also survive.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013 from 2 - 6 pm at the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 900 Rt. 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 27th at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
