Bruno DiMasi, age 69, of New Paltz passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, NY, with his loving family members by his side.
Born on January 16,1944, in Calabria, Italy, he was the son of Carlo and Angela (Piscioneri) DiMasi. He married Carmelina Piscioneri in Adelaide, Australia in January of 1973. They came to the United States in 1978. Carmelina passed away on January 29, 2012.
Bruno enjoyed his gardens, which included fruit trees, vegetables & flowers. He was a fan of professional wrestling, and was an avid hunter and enjoyed being outdoors.
He was a welder
and enjoyed working around the house on home fix-it projects.
He retired in 2007 from Tilcon, NY Inc., Poughkeepsie, NY, where he was heavy machine mechanic at the Clinton Point Stone Quarry.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Carlo and Jennifer DiMasi of Poughkeepsie, and their daughter, Nadia who he adored. Also surviving are two brothers, Nick Demasi of New Paltz, and Larry Demasi, Highland, NY; two sisters, Lena Timpano, Italy and Rosa Piscioneri, Italy, and along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by his wife, and daughter, Nadia DiMasi who died on November 26, 2000, and mother-in-law, Antonia Piscioneri who died on October 11, 2009.
Friends and relatives may call on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Copeland Funeral Home, Inc., 162 South Putt Corners Road, New Paltz, NY. The funeral will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Church, 34 South Chestnut Street, New Paltz where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombmentl will be at Lloyd Cemetery.
