Donald M. Daddario, age 70, New Paltz, NY, went to rest with our Lord on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at home with his wife and son by his side.

Born on October 24, 1942, in Newburgh, NY, to the late Dominick J. and the late Ann V. (Gill) Daddario, who were from Beacon, NY.

He spent his formative years in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. He attended SUNY New Paltz, receiving a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and subsequently a Masters degree in Criminal Justice at C.W. Post of Long Island University.

Donald worked in the field of Criminal Justice for 35 years. He retired as a NYS Parole Officer in 2002, with the NYS Division of Parole, Fishkill Correctional Facility, Beacon, NY.

He married Irene M. Strong on April 26, 2003, at St. Joseph's Church, New Paltz, NY. Donald

was a member of the New Paltz Senior Citizens, as well as a communicant of St. Joseph Church.

Donald enjoyed long walks with his wife, especially on the beach, dancing his version of Ballroom. He loved to cook a good meal, and enjoyed the theatre, and spending quiet time

with his wife, who was his confidant, friend and true love. He was a true friend and had a kind word about everyone he knew.



Donald is survived by his beloved wife: Irene M.(Strong) Daddario at home; two children: Michael and wife Christine Daddario of Bristol, CT; Michelle and husband Brian Baumgardner of Summerville, SC; step-children: Stephen and Dawn Hew of Millbrook, NY; Holly and Kenneth Tauber of New Hampton, NY; grandchildren, Michaila and Gavin Daddario of Bristol, CT; Cole and Connor Baumgardner of Summerville, SC; Juliana and Cody Hew of Millbrook; Emma Tauber of New Hampton, NY and Amanda McKiverkin, Clinton Corners, NY. Donald enjoyed going to the park, swimming and recreational activities with his grandchildren. He also leaves several cousins, and in laws dispersed throughout the country, whom he loved.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his step-son, George Hew, Jr. and George's fiancé' Karen Damico.

Friends and relatives may call on Monday, September 16, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Copeland Funeral Home, Inc., 162 South Putt Corners Road, New Paltz, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 12:30pm at St. Joseph Church, 34 South Chestnut St., New Paltz, NY. Burial will follow at St. Joachim's Cemetery, Beacon, NY.
