Naples, FL - Donald H. Weber died on February 27, 2013 at age 76. Don was a long-time resident of Dutchess County, NY, Endicott/Broome County, NY and more recently Naples, FL.
Don was born in Poughkeepsie, NY and was the son of Henry "Hank" Weber, owner of Weber Oil Service in Poughkeepsie, NY, and Marion L. Clum Weber of Clum Hill in Tannersville, NY.
A graduate of Hobart College and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University, Don began a distinguished banking career with Dutchess Bank & Trust Company in 1958 where he started as bank teller and rose to become Executive Vice President. Later in his career, Don was President & CEO of both Central Trust Company and Endicott Trust Company. He also was Chairman & CEO of the Endicott Trust Division of M&T Bank.
Don was a business and community leader who became a mentor to many who valued his reputation for fairness and integrity.
Don was active in his community and served in many leadership roles, including board of directors or officer positions with United Way, Chamber of Commerce, United Health Services, Inc. and the New York Business Development Corporation. He was also very active at St. James Episcopal Church where he was a member of the church vestry and Chairman of the finance committee that secured funding to restore the church following a catastrophic fire in 1984.
Don was loved and respected by his family and friends. Don is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 56 years, Patricia Wager Weber, and their three children, Terry Lynn Ewing (and her husband Rick Ewing) of Cape May, New Jersey, Craig H. Weber (and his wife Jodie Bellew Weber) of San Jose, California, and Kenneth H. Weber (and his wife Jacqueline Sidoti Weber) of Richmond, Virginia. Don is also survived by five grandchildren, Benjamin Ewing, Stephanie A. Weber, Christopher T. Weber, Katelyn P. Weber and Tyler P. Weber, two great grandchildren Hunter and Scarlet Ewing, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at St. James' Episcopal Church in Hyde Park, NY on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
