PLEASANT VALLEY - Donna Marie Lawless-Wisnewski, loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, died this past weekend. She was 50.

Donna was a resident of the Mid-Hudson Valley for 25 years, 20 of them in Pleasant Valley, where she was widely known and well-liked. Born and raised in Centerport, Long Island, she was 10th in the line of the 12 children of Thomas and Joan Lawless.

Donna graduated from Oneonta State College in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Nutrition and started down a path doing what she truly enjoyed: helping people. She worked as a dietitian at Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx from 1985 through 1988, and after moving to the Mid Hudson Valley, was employed for six years as a public health nutritionist for the Women, Infants, and Children program at the Dutchess County Health Department. Donna was also the director of The "Healthy Solutions" Weight Management Program at numerous Health & Wellness Facilities throughout the region. In 2004, Donna attended the Hudson Valley School of Massage, becoming a NYS licensed massage therapist, practicing in Dutchess County. She practiced at LaGrange Physical Therapy, Moriarty Physical Therapy, Buttermilk Falls Inn and Spa, Marion's Salon/Spa, the Mohonk Mountain House, and, most recently, as the owner of Hands on Massage and Wellness located at Gold's Gym in LaGrange.

Donna was a fitness fanatic, a rabid Yankees fan, and an avid runner. She would be seen running the roads of Pleasant Valley every morning, rain or shine, regardless of the temperature. She completed numerous marathons, half marathons, and 10Ks, most recently winning her age group in the Brewster Half Marathon this past fall. The Dutchess County Classic was her favorite event, and she looked forward to competing in it year after year.

She is survived by her three children, Nicholas, 23, Brenden, 17, and Patrick, 11, her mother,Joan , her 9 sisters and 2 brothers, and more than two dozen nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Thomas.

Visitation will be Friday, June 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main St., Pleasant Valley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, June 22 from St. Stanislaus Church, Main St. Pleasant Valley. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
