Gabriel Anthony Fera

SALT POINT - Gabriel Anthony Fera, 89 of Salt Point died at his residence on Friday, May 3, 2013. Born in Manhattan on June 12, 1923, he was the son of the late Carmelo and Catherine Compiglia Fera.

Gabriel proudly served his country during WW-II with the US Army in France from 1943-1946. On January 25, 1947 at Mt. Carmel Church in The Bronx, he married Mary Fiore. Mrs. Fera survives at home. Mr Fera was employed by NYC Water Department for 25 years until his retirement.

In addition to his wife Mary, Gabriel is survived by his 3 children; Kathi Knickerbocker of Clinton Corners, Janice Soto of Hudson and Carl Fera of The Bronx; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Laura Fera; a granddaughter; and his brothers and sisters, Carl, Nicholas, Maria and Concetta.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 5 from 4-7 pm and Monday, May 6 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main St., Pleasant Valley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, May 7 at 10 am from St. Stanislaus Church, Main St., Pleasant Valley. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, The Bronx.

Gabriel's family would like to thank Hudson Valley Home Care, Hospice and Ron Hare for the wonderful and compassionate care given at his residence during his time of illness.
