LAGRANGE - Gerard Noll died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 peacefully at home. He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on June 30, 1931, the son of the late Thomas A. and Catherine C. Noll, and grandson of the late Fire Chief Christian W. and Sarah C. Noll. He was predeceased by his wife, Theodora A. (Tedi Smith) Noll, on March 3, 2011. Gerry attended Nativity grade school, Poughkeepsie High School, and is an alum of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, with a B.E.E. degree. While at RPI he joined the US Naval Reserves, completing his four year enlistment while working at IBM, for whom he was employed following his graduation. At IBM he was involved with the manufacturing and development of large scale digital computers, and his career included Program Manager assignments in Poughkeepsie, East Fishkill, Endicott and World Trade headquarters located both in White Plains and Paris, France. He was a lifelong communicant of St Martin de Porres church in LaGrange. He was active in Republican politics, and served for many years as committeeman in both the City of Poughkeepsie and later the Town of Lagrange. He was an officer in the Young Republican Club, a member of the IBM Quarter Century and Two Generation clubs, the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity, and the Dutchess Golf and Country Club. He participated in many other organizations over the years. He enjoyed his family, friends, an occasional round of golf, traveling with his wife Tedi, and spending time with her in Florida in the winter months. He is survived by his son, Matthew G. Noll and his wife, Jennifer, with grandson, Dominic, of Highland; his daughter, Kate Noll Robbins and her husband, James, with granddaughters Delaney and Paige, and grandson Gabriel. He is also survived by his sister Janet Noll Smalley; brother in law, Edward T. Smith, and his longtime companion, Anna May Duncan, of Poughkeepsie; and many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, September 29, 2013, 2-5 PM at the Wm. G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will held Monday 10 AM at St. Martin de Porres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Rd., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Burial will follow in the family plot in Calvary Cemetery.
