Harry A. Brady

Poughkeepsie - Harry A. Brady, 66, a lifelong area resident, died on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie, with his loving family at his side.

Born on March 27, 1946 in Mahopac, NY, he was the son of the late Arthur and Myrtle Montgomery Brady.

On June 25, 1967 in Holy Trinity Church, Poughkeepsie, he married the former Sandra Carruthers. Mrs. Brady survives at home.

He worked as a Master Planner for PDQ Manufacturing, Inc./JABIL in Poughkeepsie for 43 years.

Harry attended the Freedom Plains United Presbyterian Church in LaGrange, where he was a Serving Elder and a very active member. He was a Life Member of the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Dept for 50 years, and an avid Marist College Basketball fan. He enjoyed trips to Ocean City, NJ with his family and took great joy in his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Eric Brady, and wife, Jen, of Hopewell Jct.; grandchildren, Cameron and Alexandra Brady; sister, Joan Pinckney and partner Ray Facteau, of Clinton; niece Tara Sinisgalli and her husband Rocco, and nephew Bruce Pinckney; brother-in-law, William Carruthers and wife, Linda, of Poughkeepsie; niece and nephew Elizabeth and William Carruthers.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Craig Brady on August 20, 1990.

Calling Hours will be from 2 - 5 PM on Sunday, August 19, 2012, at Sweet's Funeral Home. Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, August 20th at the Freedom Plains United Presbyterian Church, Rte. 55 & Stringham Rd., LaGrangeville. The Rev. Paul Denniston Lent will officiate.

Burial will follow in the family plot at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
