Hyde Park - Janette H. Johnson, 91, a resident of Ferncliff Nursing Home, formerly of Hyde Park entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 1 at Ferncliff.
Born in Brooklyn on November 8, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Sidney Stacey and Helen Sammons Stacey. She graduated from high school in Brooklyn and secretarial school in Manhattan.
Mrs. Johnson was employed by the New York Consulate Office of the Australian Government for over 37 years, serving as executive secretary to the director of finance for the consulate office. After retirement, she began a second career performing various administrative duties for her husband's catering business, Gus Johnson's Le Cordon Bleu Caterers in Hyde Park.
On December 1, 1945 she married the love of her life Gustav J. Johnson, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Brooklyn, NY. Mr. Johnson survives her at Ferncliff Nursing Home. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
Mrs. Johnson was a communicant of the Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel in Poughkeepsie. She was predeceased by four brothers; Sidney, Bill, Ed, and Jim Stacey.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 5, at the Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, 255 Hudson View Drive, Poughkeepsie NY 12601 with internment to follow at the Union Cemetery, Route 9G, Hyde Park NY.
