Clinton Corners - Jeanetta Burrow Dies at Age 95
Jeanetta Burrow, born Jeanetta Helen Nauta, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, July 28, 2013, with her family by her side. Jeanetta, the eldest daughter of John and Helen Nauta of Clinton Corners, was born on April 20, 1918 in New Jersey, and grew up in Salt Point and Pleasant Valley. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Harry, Bert and John Jr. and two sisters, Billie Holst and Ernestine Sheldon.
In 1942, Jeanetta married Troy Burrow, her husband of nearly fifty years and a former Clinton Corners Fire Chief. The couple resided in the Clinton Corners area until 1965, when they were transferred by IBM to Boulder, Colorado and on to Tucson, Arizona in 1979. After retiring, the couple purchased a motor home, moved to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1990, and traveled throughout the country until Troy's untimely death in 1991. Jeanetta continued to reside in Oregon with her daughter Susan until 1998, when she returned to Millbrook and lived with her daughter Linda for a few years, eventually taking a senior apartment on Alden Place in Millbrook. For the last few years, she lived at the Sharon Health Center in Sharon, Connecticut. She remained alert and active until the end of her life.
Jeanetta was a member of the Millbrook Ladies Auxiliary, Millbrook Seniors and a previous member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Wilber of Millbrook and Susan Worthington of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Dan Wilber of Millbrook, Becky Wilber of Millbrook, Jason Lilleboe of Austin, Texas, Scott Lilleboe of Austin, Texas and Joshua Lilleboe of Austin, Texas, seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held from 10am to 11am on Saturday, August 3, 2013 with funeral services beginning at 11am at the Allen Funeral Home, 3270 Franklin Ave., Millbrook, NY.
