"Buster" Coratti

PALM COAST, FL - John J. "Buster" Coratti, of Palm Coast, Florida, formerly of Poughkeepsie, New York, passed away peacefully, at his home, on April 30, 2013, with his wife, Sharon, by his side.

John was a self-employed hair color specialist at his salon, JonJosef Hair & Colour Group, Inc, in Poughkeepsie, New York. He was a co-owner of Lacivious Boutique and Armadillo Clothing of Poughkeepsie, New York and Boston, Massachussets. He was an accomplished artist, who loved not only his art, but had a love for sports, especially boxing. He was involved in the Big Brother program in Poughkeepsie, New York. He was in support of community animal rescue, especially feral cats. He was a gentle and understanding man, who would not only help people in need, but also those who needed guidance in understanding the art of forgiveness.

John is survived by his wife, Sharon, who resides at their home in Palm Coast, Florida, his brother, Joseph R. Coratti and his wife, Karen of Poughkeepsie, New York, his sister, Debra Velie and her husband, Eric of Hyde Park, New York. His sisters-in-law, Carol Prizzi of Poughkeepsie, New York and Karen Whitaker and her husband, Bob of Palm Coast, Florida and many beloved nieces, nephews and a great-nephew, Dylan. He was predeceased by his parents, John R. and Grace M. Coratti.

The family would also like to thank Susan Mitchell and JoanMarie Livoti for their loving support and compassion both before and during his long illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Buster Coratti, will be held Tuesday May 7, 2013 at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at 10:30 AM.
