HYDE PARK - John "Jack" Gannon, 87 of Hyde Park, died on Sunday, June 9, 2013, at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Born in Brooklyn on June 6, 1926, he was the son of Frank and Marie Hyland Gannon. Jack served his country during WW ll with the US Navy. He owned and operated Timm Trucking Corp. in Queens for over 30 years. Jack is survived by his wife, Susan. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Lions Club and a life-time member of the American Legion.
In addition to his wife Susan, Jack is survived by his 2 daughters, Kathleen Moan and her husband Gene of CO.; and Irene Petrucelli and her husband Carl of Long Island, NY; his 5 grandchildren, Christina, Jason, Carl, John, and Nicholas; his great granddaughter Tessa; his brother, Joseph Gannon of College Point; and sisters Marie Gannon of Brooklyn, Kathleen Howard of New Hyde Park, and Patricia Sweeney of Toms River, NJ; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Frances Brancato and brothers, Eugene and Raymond Gannon.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 12, from 2-6 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main St., Pleasant Valley.
