LaFalce, Jr.

Hyde Park - Jospeh P. LaFalce, Jr. 74, a lifelong area resident, passed away on October 1, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Poughkeepsie on July 23, 1938 to the late Joseph and Grace LaFalce.

He attended Poughkeepsie High School and preceeded to honorably serve his country in the United States Navy. He was employed by IBM as a field manager.

In addition to his devoted wife and best friend Lorraine Schickler, Joseph is survived by his three daughters Kelly LaFalce, Kimberly LaFalce Holder and Kory LaFalce Farzam, son-in-law Shermin Farzam, three grandchildren Isabella, Joseph and Aria, three brothers Alfanso and wife Cecelia, Anthony LaFalce and wife Patricia, and Michael Lafalce and wife Lisa, and sister Ann DelForno.

In addition, he was predeceased by his brother David "Rocky" LaFalce and brother-in-law Anthony DelForno. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Joseph was an avid golfer, had a passion for cooking and was committed to serving his community. It brought him immense joy to spend time with his children and grandchildren. They adore their "Papa".

Calling hours are Thursday October 4th from 4 to 8 pm at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. 218 Mill St. Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Wheelchair entrance is located in the rear of funeral home on Vassar St.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday October 5th 9:30 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie.

Entombment will follow in St. Peters Cemetery Poughkeepsie.
