POUGHKEEPSIE - Lauri Beth Allen, 59, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie found peace after a long battle with cancer, on January 24, 2014 surrounded by her family at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was born on April 26, 1954 to the late John Moran and the late Barbara Clina Moran. She attended Arlington High School and Dutchess Community College. She was a therapy aide for over 30 years at Hudson River Psychiatric Center. She loved to crochet, garden, enjoyed a challenging crossword puzzle and doting on her cat, Buddy. She had an impressive Christmas village display that she was proud to show off every year. Her love of all things "pig" was rivaled only by her obsession with shoes. She was predeceased by her husband, Karl Allen Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Tara L. Pantalone, son-in-law, John D. Pantalone of Poughkeepsie and grandson, Benjamin Schneider. Also surviving, a sister and brother-in-law, Valerie Sommerville and Tim Mahler of Pleasant Valley. Another brother-in-law, Mike Eades of Poughkeepsie. She was predeceased by her sister, Melanie Eades. Nieces, Carina Schroeder (Sebastian) of Los Angeles, CA. and Nicole Eades of Millbrook. Nephew, James Eades (Annmarie) of Dover Plains. Great nephews, Dylan and Neville Schroeder and Jordan Eades. She leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29 from 5-8 PM at the Wm. G. Miller & Son F.H., Inc., 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Service of Remembrance will be at 8PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dutchess County ASPCA,
