Fishkill - Lee Maher, 91 years old, a long-time resident of Fishkill and formerly of Howard Beach, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 12, 2013. She was born September 8, 1921 in Manhattan and was the daughter of the late Paul and Antoinette Crecco Casamassima.
Lee had been employed by Home Federal Savings Bank in Howard Beach as Vice President for over twenty years until her retirement in 1985. She was a communicant of St. Mary's, Mother of the Church in Fishkill and had been a member of the Fishkill Senior Citizens. She enjoyed reading, shopping, movies, fine dining and traveling. In her earlier years, she liked to do oil paintings and knitting. She was a member of the Board of Directors and past secretary for Park Condominiums. Lee especially enjoyed spending time with her family and family gatherings.
She is survived by her two beloved sons, Robert Sciolto of Fishkill and his companion, Francine Rosenblum of Long Island and James Sciolto and his wife, Isabelle, of Merrick, LI; her sister, Ann Bruno of Queens; two cherished grandsons, Michael and James Sciolto and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, John P. Sciolto, her second husband, Larry Maher and a sister, Annette Accuaro.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 1028 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10 am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, Fishkill, followed by burial at Long Island National Cemetery.
