Marion E. Cantwell
POUGHKEEPSIE - Marion Cantwell, of Poughkeepsie died Tuesday, July 1 following a brief illness. She was born March 6, 1928 in Bath, N.Y. the child of the late Charles and Maryana (nee Dethloff) Faucett. She was married to Lawrence V. Cantwell in Rochester, NY. He predeceased her in 1990. Marion was a 1950 graduate of Beaver College and employed as a secretary at Vassar College for many years. In her later years, she worked at Dutchess County SPCA, and volunteered at Volunteer Caregivers Program; Retired Senior and Volunteer Program (RSVP); St. Francis Hospital; Meals-on-Wheels and Friends of Seniors of Dutchess County. She enjoyed reading, gardening and listening to music. Marion will be remembered best for her love of animals. She provided a home and love to hard to adopt shelter dogs. Marion is survived by many friends who will dearly miss her. Arrangements are through William G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Marion directed there be no calling hours. Her burial will be private. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Ave., Hyde Park, NY 12538. Arrangements are under the direction of Wm. G.
